No! For the 2020 administration, each AP course will have a 45-minute free-response exam focusing on the content most schools were able to cover by early March. You’ll take the test from home, on whatever device you have access to. Colleges have agreed to accept this year’s AP scores as they would any scores on full-length AP exams. AP exams this year will have only free-response question types (no multiple choice). Most exams have either 1 or 2 free-response questions. You can find the exact question types on each AP exam here.
Yes. In order to ensure a level playing field, AP exams this year will be completely open book and open note. This means that rather than testing information recall, they’ll be testing your analysis, critical thinking, and ability to make connections between different topics.
The deadline for portfolio submissions has been extended to May 26. This includes AP 2-D Art and Design, 3-D Art and Design, Computer Science Principles, Drawing, Research, and Seminar courses.
Many schools across the country have canceled classes for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. This includes AP classes. Depending on your school, there may be classes online or other arrangements for you to continue to prepare at home. To support these efforts, Kaplan has free AP prep sessions on YouTube (details below). In addition, Kaplan is offering AP review sessions for many AP exams – 12 classes that go over free-response question strategy and topic review. You can learn more about those here.

Kaplan is offering completely free AP prep sessions on YouTube live for AP US History, AP World History, and AP Biology. These sessions will focus on question review and include time to ask a teacher questions. CollegeBoard also has free AP resources available for each exam.
