When this happens, you should always guess, even if you have no idea which choice is correct.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The previous version of the SAT had what\u2019s known as a \u201cguessing penalty,\u201d meaning points were deducted for any incorrect answer. Maybe your letter is \u201cA for Awesome!\u201d or \u201cD for Done!\u201d It doesn\u2019t matter which letter you choose because they are all equally likely to be correct. If you feel like you are spending too much time on any question, guess and move on. While this may seem like you are giving up too easily, what you\u2019re really doing is being strategic. You can always return to those questions later. Strategic test-takers know to spend their time on questions they are likely to answer correctly, not to stubbornly work through a difficult or time-consuming question before they have seen other, potentially easier, questions.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><footer class=\"entry-footer\"><\/footer><\/article><div class='iconlist-timeline'><\/div><\/li>\n<li><div  class='iconlist_icon  avia-font-entypo-fontello'><span class='iconlist-char ' aria-hidden='true' data-av_icon='\ue816' data-av_iconfont='entypo-fontello'><\/span><\/div><article class=\"article-icon-entry \"  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='iconlist_content_wrap'><header class=\"entry-content-header\"><h4 class='av_iconlist_title iconlist_title   '  itemprop=\"headline\"  >Eliminate obviously wrong answers whenever possible.<\/h4><\/header><div class='iconlist_content  '  itemprop=\"text\"  ><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In some cases, you can eliminate answer choices with very little effort. For instance, if a math question asks for the solution for <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">x<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and tells you that <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">x<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> must be greater than zero, eliminate all negative answer choices.
