Once you\u2019ve created your account, you\u2019ll indicate the LSAT date and testing location for which you\u2019re registering. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The deadline to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lsac.org\/lsat\/lsat-dates-deadlines-score-release-dates\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">register for the LSAT<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is generally 5-6 weeks before the test date, but registration opens long before that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to registering for the LSAT, you should register for the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lsac.org\/applying-law-school\/jd-application-process\/credential-assembly-service-cas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Credential Assembly Service (CAS)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, an LSAC service that includes the following: transcript summarization, creation of law school reports, letter of recommendation processing, and electronic law school application processing. The vast majority of law schools require applicants to apply through CAS.<\/span><\/p>\n<div  style=' margin-top:30px; margin-bottom:4px;'  class='hr hr-custom hr-center hr-icon-no  0  avia-builder-el-0  el_before_av_heading  avia-builder-el-first '><span class='hr-inner  inner-border-av-border-none' style=' width:50px;' ><span class='hr-inner-style'><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div  style='padding-bottom:10px; ' class='av-special-heading av-special-heading-h2    avia-builder-el-1  el_after_av_hr  el_before_av_hr  '><h2 class='av-special-heading-tag '  itemprop=\"headline\"  >LSAT Exam Fees<\/h2><div class='special-heading-border'><div class='special-heading-inner-border' ><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be prepared to pay the following basic fees as you register for the LSAT and CAS:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">$238 to take the LSAT, including <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.manhattanprep.com\/lsat\/blog\/the-lsat-essay-what-it-is-and-how-to-write-it-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LSAT writing<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">$207 for CAS\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">$45 for each law school report (one for each law school to which you\u2019re applying)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A variety of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaptest.com\/study\/lsat\/lsat-accommodations-what-you-need-to-know\/\">LSAT accommodations<\/a> is available to test-takers, should you require them. You can request these accommodations through LSAC after you\u2019ve completed your registration. LSAC will notify you of its decision regarding your request within 14 days of receiving it.<\/p>\n<div  style=' margin-top:30px; margin-bottom:4px;'  class='hr hr-custom hr-center hr-icon-no  0  avia-builder-el-2  el_after_av_heading  el_before_av_heading '><span class='hr-inner  inner-border-av-border-none' style=' width:50px;' ><span class='hr-inner-style'><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div  style='padding-bottom:10px; ' class='av-special-heading av-special-heading-h2    avia-builder-el-3  el_after_av_hr  el_before_av_heading  '><h2 class='av-special-heading-tag '  itemprop=\"headline\"  >When Should I Take the LSAT?<\/h2><div class='special-heading-border'><div class='special-heading-inner-border' ><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The LSAT is offered <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaptest.com\/lsat\/lsat-test-dates\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">nine times each year<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at many testing centers across the United States. Law school application periods open in the fall and accept applicants on a rolling basis, so you should test (and retest, if necessary) as early as possible in order to have the greatest chance of admittance. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaptest.com\/study\/lsat\/when-should-i-take-the-lsat\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take the LSAT<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in June, July, or September to be as competitive an applicant as possible. The November\/December LSAT is the last option if you want to be considered for admittance the following fall, though you won\u2019t have time to retest before the application window closes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some testing centers do not administer the LSAT on all nine LSAT dates; once you\u2019ve decided when you\u2019d like to test, check to make sure that the LSAT will be available at your preferred <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tcs.lsac.org\/SearchCenter.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">testing center<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div  style='padding-bottom:10px; ' class='av-special-heading av-special-heading-h2    avia-builder-el-4  el_after_av_heading  el_before_av_heading  '><h2 class='av-special-heading-tag '  itemprop=\"headline\"  >LSAT Prep Tips<\/h2><div class='special-heading-border'><div class='special-heading-inner-border' ><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<p>While it\u2019s possible to adequately prepare in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaptest.com\/study\/lsat\/how-to-study-for-the-lsat-with-limited-time\/\">as little as a month<\/a>, you should plan on taking several months to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaptest.com\/lsat\">study for the LSAT<\/a>. This will give you time to take some practice tests, focus on your weak areas, and still get some rest the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaptest.com\/study\/lsat\/what-should-i-study-the-week-before-the-lsat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">week before the LSAT<\/a>. If you choose to retake the LSAT, keep in mind that you can only test three times within any given year, five times within the current and previous five years, and seven times in your lifetime.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Law schools will contact LSAC when they are ready to receive your score report.
