Registering for the MCAT is a straightforward process, but it\u2019s important to review the AAMC\u2019s rescheduling and cancellation policies in case you need to change your plans. Once you\u2019ve selected an MCAT test date<\/a>, you\u2019ll have to complete a few steps to register for the MCAT:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. First, make an account with the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC)<\/a>, which develops and administers the MCAT. <\/li>
  2. Once you\u2019ve logged in to your AAMC profile, click on \u201cStart Exam Registration\u201d.<\/li>
  3. You will be asked to provide your personal information, including your address. Be sure to fill in your info as it appears on the government ID you will be using as identification on the day of the test.<\/li>
  4. Once you have completed all of the required forms and have reached the \u201cSchedule\u201d page, click \u201cSchedule an MCAT Exam\u201d.<\/li>
  5. Select your test date and location. If no seats are available for your desired location and date, you can request to be notified if an appointment becomes available.<\/li>
  6. Once you\u2019ve selected your location and appointment time, click \u201cProceed to Checkout\u201d to pay for your MCAT registration.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    If you require testing accommodations<\/a>, you must submit a request via MCAT Accommodations Online<\/a>. Note that the review process<\/a> may take up to 60 days, so plan accordingly. Regardless of which MCAT test date you choose, make sure you give yourself enough time to prep for the MCAT.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    How much is the MCAT registration fee?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    In 2026, the standard MCAT registration fee is $355. The AAMC also offers a fee assistance program<\/a> for those unable to take the MCAT without financial assistance. If you qualify for fee assistance, it reduces the MCAT registration fee to $145. Please note that if you are taking the MCAT outside of the U.S., Canada, or U.S. territories, you will be charged an extra international fee of $130 on top of the initial registration fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
