Make sure you have a reliable internet connection and about 40 minutes to complete the registration process. You\u2019ll supply the following as you register:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A headshot following <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.act.org\/content\/act\/en\/products-and-services\/the-act\/registration\/photo-submission-requirements.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">specific ACT guidelines<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.act.org\/content\/act\/en\/products-and-services\/the-act\/registration\/high-school-codes-lookup.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">high school code<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.act.org\/content\/act\/en\/products-and-services\/the-act\/registration\/test-center-locator.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">testing center<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your parents\u2019 email (optional)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is also where you\u2019ll specify whether or not you want to take the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaptest.com\/study\/act\/what-to-expect-on-the-act-essay\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">writing portion of the ACT<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Since different colleges and universities have different requirements, be sure to check ahead of time to see if your <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/actapps.act.org\/writPrefRM\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">colleges require<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that you submit an ACT writing score.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During ACT registration you\u2019ll indicate <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.act.org\/content\/act\/en\/products-and-services\/the-act\/scores\/college-codes-lookup.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which colleges<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> you want to receive your ACT score report, request <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaptest.com\/study\/act\/act-accommodations-what-you-need-to-know\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">accommodations or EL resources<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and opt-in to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/pages.act.org\/get-your-name-in-the-game.html?_ga=2.150887920.739071441.1573480249-1890809053.1573275249\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ACT\u2019s Educational Opportunity Service (EOS)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which connects students with colleges, universities, and financial aid opportunities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Depending on whether or not you decide to take the ACT writing portion, you\u2019ll need to pay either $52 (ACT without writing) or $68 (ACT with writing) by credit card or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.act.org\/content\/dam\/act\/unsecured\/documents\/FeeWaiver.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fee waiver<\/a> when you register for the ACT. This fee covers the cost of testing, high school and personal score reports, and up to 4 college ACT score reports. You have the option of sending additional college score reports for a fee of $13 per report. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.act.org\/content\/act\/en\/products-and-services\/the-act\/registration\/fees.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Additional fees<\/a> will be applied for a change of test type, change of test date, change of testing center, standby testing and late test registration.<br \/>\n\t<div  style='background:#ffffff;color:#444444;border-color:#7825ff;' class='av_promobox  avia-button-no   avia-builder-el-0  el_before_av_heading  avia-builder-el-first '>\t\t<div class='avia-promocontent'><\/p>\n<h4>Stay on Top of Test Date Changes<\/h4>\n<p>In response to concerns about the spread of COVID-19, ACT may adjust the testing schedule. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaptest.com\/act\/act-test-dates\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">View ACT Test and Registration Dates.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><br \/>\n<div  style='padding-bottom:10px; ' class='av-special-heading av-special-heading-h2    avia-builder-el-1  el_after_av_promobox  el_before_av_heading  '><h2 class='av-special-heading-tag '  itemprop=\"headline\"  >When Should I Take the ACT?<\/h2><div class='special-heading-border'><div class='special-heading-inner-border' ><\/div><\/div><\/div><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s a good idea to plan your ACT test date based on your study plan rather than the other way around. Take a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaptest.com\/act\/free\/act-practice-test-options\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">free ACT practice test<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to gauge how long you\u2019ll need to study for the ACT, and register for a test date that will give you plenty of time to prepare. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ACT is offered <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaptest.com\/act\/act-test-dates\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">seven times per year<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The registration deadline is about a month before each test date, and the late registration deadline is about two weeks later. It\u2019s common for students to take the ACT <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaptest.com\/study\/act\/how-many-times-should-you-take-the-act\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2-3 times<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, so plan to take the ACT sometime in your junior year of high school to give yourself plenty of time to retest once or twice if you don\u2019t hit your <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaptest.com\/study\/act\/whats-good-act-score\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">goal score<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> right away.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div  style='padding-bottom:10px; ' class='av-special-heading av-special-heading-h2    avia-builder-el-2  el_after_av_heading  el_before_av_heading  '><h2 class='av-special-heading-tag '  itemprop=\"headline\"  >What to do if you miss the ACT registration deadline?<\/h2><div class='special-heading-border'><div class='special-heading-inner-border' ><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<p>If you miss the late registration deadline, you have the option to pay a $55 fee and register for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.act.org\/content\/act\/en\/products-and-services\/the-act\/registration\/standby-testing.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">standby testing<\/a>. Though standby testing doesn\u2019t guarantee admittance to the ACT, if there are enough materials, seats, and staff available you\u2019ll be permitted to test. Your $55 will be refunded if you\u2019re denied admittance on test day.<\/p>\n<p><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you requested any accommodations or english learner resources when you registered for the ACT, be sure and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.act.org\/content\/act\/en\/products-and-services\/the-act\/registration\/accommodations.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">complete the accommodations request process<\/span><\/a> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by the <\/span><\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.act.org\/content\/act\/en\/products-and-services\/the-act\/registration.html#dates\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">late ACT registration deadline<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This will include signing the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.act.org\/content\/dam\/act\/unsecured\/documents\/TAA-Consent-to-Release-Information-to-ACT.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Consent to Release Information to ACT form<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and working with your school officials to finalize the request and submit documentation to ACT.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div  style='padding-bottom:10px; ' class='av-special-heading av-special-heading-h2    avia-builder-el-4  el_after_av_heading  el_before_av_heading  '><h2 class='av-special-heading-tag '  itemprop=\"headline\"  >ACT Studying Tips<\/h2><div class='special-heading-border'><div class='special-heading-inner-border' ><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After you register for the ACT, decide <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaptest.com\/act\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">what ACT prep<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will fit your schedule and learning style. You might choose to register for an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaptest.com\/act\/comparison\/instructor-led-courses\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ACT course taught by an expert instructor<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, follow a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaptest.com\/act\/comparison\/self-guided-options\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">self-guided curriculum<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, or just work your way through an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/ACT-Prep-Plus-2021-Strategies\/dp\/150626249X\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ACT prep book<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Whatever method you use to study, make sure you give yourself time to rest. You can expect to receive your multiple-choice scores 2-8 weeks after your test date and your writing score approximately 2 weeks later.
