The Dental Admission Test, or DAT, is more than just a formality for dental school admissions. It is a multiple-choice, computer-based, standardized exam that is required for admission to dental schools in the United States and Canada. Get started by learning the DAT basics.
Because of concerns surrounding COVID-19, DAT testing has been suspended at all Prometric testing centers. Testing is set to resume on May 1, 2020, barring closures extending. Learn more from the ADA Department of Testing Services.
Can I reschedule my DAT?
If your DAT was scheduled during the testing center closures, Prometric will contact you to reschedule your DAT. The soonest that centers could re-open is May 1. We will update you if test center closures are extended. Learn more from the ADA Department of Testing Services.
What if my DAT testing window closes before testing centers reopen?
If your DAT test administration eligibility window expires between March 15, 2020 and June 30, 2020, your administration window will be extended through July 1, 2020. Stay on top of updates from ADA’s Department of Testing Services.
